What is chair massage?

Chair Massage is the most versatile style of therapeutic massage. Because it is done through the clothing on seated clients, it can be offered almost anywhere to almost anybody. Because the sessions are brief (usually 5-15 minutes), it is affordable for almost everyone.

For most clients, I use the TouchPro™ technique, which is used internationally and is based on traditional Japanese acupressure. Many massage techniques tend to sedate while they relax the recipient; the TouchPro technique relieves muscle tension and enhances circulation but tends to be invigorating rather than sedating. This helps people work or play better afterward instead of falling asleep!

The purpose of these sessions is to decrease excessive muscle tension and boost circulation by pressing a series of points on the upper body which are observed to be centers of tension. It is not intended to be “therapy” or a “treatment” for any specific complaint, but it will help almost any specific musculoskeletal complaint to feel better.

I've also taught chair massage at Atlanta School of Massage, Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health, and as a local trainer for the TouchPro Institute.
